Our Story

About the Program

Why we exist, what we believe, and the promise we make to every driver on America's roads.

Where It Started

A Story Nobody Told

Every day, millions of truck drivers cross this country hauling everything that makes modern life possible groceries, medicine, fuel, building materials. They work long hours, navigate weather and traffic, and rarely see the people their work affects.

But sometimes, a driver stops. They pull over to help a stranded motorist. They check on someone who looks lost. They carry a stranger's groceries or sit with someone who needed company. These moments happen more than most people know. They just never make the news.

"We're not measuring freight. We're measuring character. And the trucking industry has more of it than anyone gives it credit for."

The Highway Hero was built to change that to give ordinary people a place to say thank you, and to make sure those stories reach the people who deserve to hear them.

No metrics. No performance scores. Just recognition where it's long overdue.

What We Are

A public recognition program honoring truck drivers who demonstrate professionalism, kindness, and humanity often in moments that go completely unnoticed.

What We Are Not

This is not a freight rating platform. We do not review deliveries, evaluate performance, or accept complaints. This program is strictly about human moments nothing else.

Who Can Participate

Anyone. Members of the public, fellow drivers, shippers, warehouse workers you don't need to work in transportation to nominate someone. If you witnessed something worth honoring, we want to hear it.

Our Promise

Every submission is reviewed by a real person. We will never sell your data, use it for marketing, or share it without your consent. This program runs on trust and we protect it carefully.

What We Stand For

Our Core Values

Humanity First

We believe the most important things that happen on America's roads have nothing to do with logistics. They have everything to do with people looking out for each other.

Recognition Without Agenda

No advertising. No freight performance scores. No commercial interests attached to any driver's story. Recognition here is pure it's earned by character alone.

Privacy & Trust

We take the responsibility of handling people's stories seriously. Submission data is never sold or used for marketing. Driver details are shared only with their dignity in mind.

Open to Everyone

You don't need an account, a login, or a connection to the industry. If you witnessed something worth honoring, this program is yours to use. Free. Always.

Who Reviews Submissions

The Review Board

All nominations are reviewed by the The Highway Hero Review Board a group of transportation professionals and community advocates committed to the program's values. The board confirms alignment with program guidelines, removes off-topic content, and selects standout stories for publication and monthly recognition.

Not all submissions are published but every one is read. The board's decisions are final. Selection is based on the positive impact of the action, the authenticity of the story, and how well it represents professionalism and humanity in the trucking industry.
